Nowadays, it seems like everyone is on Instagram- especially moms! It’s the perfect place for proud mamas to share silly and adorable shots of their children or to brag about their kids’ accomplishments. It’s easier than ever to find (virtual) support from fellow parents going through similar challenges and to vent frustration over the woes of parenthood. And, it’s an excellent tool for staying in touch with friends and seeing what the people in our lives are up to.

But with that being said, not everyone is signed into social media. Not only are there many ordinary mothers who simply don’t have the time or patience to update their followers online, but there are many celebrity moms who prefer keeping their personal life private. Although having social media accounts can be helpful to promote a celebrity’s latest work project or gives fans a deeper insight into their everyday lives, not all stars want to be so open with the world. Given how most celebrities have to deal with paparazzi on a daily basis, we can’t say we blame them.

This list features ten celebrity moms who have yet to sign up for Instagram. Although we’d love to see selfies of them and their cute brood, we can also understand why they prefer living as low-key as possible given how obsessed the world is with knowing anything and everything about them.

18 10. Mila Kunis

We love keeping up to date with the adorable family Mila Kunis shares with her husband Ashton Kutcher. The couple, who wed in 2015, have two children: daughter Wyatt (born in 2014) and Dimitri (born in 2016). And while her hubby has over 3.3 million followers on Instagram, Mila has yet to sign up for the app.

Mila once explained that she just thinks some things should stay private. "I just don't think people need to know when I'm going to the restroom," she explained, InStyle reports. "What am I gonna tweet? Like, 'Hey now I'm moving from room to room.' I don't really know what I would tweet."

17 9. Emily Blunt

16

Emily Blunt isn’t afraid to get candid about parenthood in interviews, but don’t expect to see selfies of her and her two children online anytime soon, as the actress doesn’t have any public social media accounts. "I’m like a dinosaur with that stuff, No. 1. But it’s also not really an organic sort of fit for me," she once told Vulture. "I can barely remember to text people back!"

With that being said, Emily’s better half, John Krasinski, has a very active Instagram account that boasts over 2.2 million followers. The couple have been married since 2010 and have two daughters: Hazel (born in 2014) and Violet (born in 2016).

15 8. Angelina Jolie

14

Although there is a fan account for Angelina Jolie on Instagram that has a whopping 10 million followers, the actress has never had her own public account. In fact, based on what she’s said in interviews, it sounds like the mom-of-six also has strong rules for her children regarding their social media presence.

“We talk about social media, and here’s the truth. My children have seen things about themselves even from what’s considered serious news people that are inaccurate,” Angie once explained, Daily Edge reports. “So my children have a very odd sense of who’s telling the truth and what is the truth and what they actually believe or trust.”

13 7. Rachel McAdams

12

Although her Mean Girls character Regina George would probably be all over Instagram nowadays, the same can’t be said for Rachel McAdams. The celebrity currently doesn’t have any public social media accounts, which is probably why fans have barely gotten a glimpse at the actress’s first child, aside from a few paparazzi photos.

Rachel welcomed her baby last year with her boyfriend Jamie Linden after much speculation, despite never officially confirming the pregnancy. The celebrity is so low-key that her child’s name and gender have yet to even be revealed to the public.

11 6. Scarlett Johansson

10

The only Instagram accounts you’ll see of Scarlett Johansson are fan-made accounts, as the iconic blonde prefers to keep her family offline. "I don’t have a Facebook or a Twitter account," the celebrity once explained to Interview about her decision. "I can’t think of anything I’d rather do less than have to continuously share details of my everyday life.”

The actress became a mom in 2014 after she gave birth to her first child, Rose Dorothy. She shares her daughter with her ex-husband Romain Dauriac, whom she was married to from 2014 to 2017. Earlier this year, the mom-of-one announced her engagement to SNL alum Colin Jost after two years of dating. She was also previously married to actor Ryan Reynolds from 2008 to 2011.

9 5. Sandra Bullock

8

Actress Sandra Bullock not only keeps busy with her busy filming schedule, but also with taking care of her two young children. She adopted her first child, son Louis, in 2010 only months after announcing her divorce from Jesse James. In 2015, she announced that she had adopted a second child, then-3-year old Laila, during a cover spread for People magazine.

Sandra was never one for social media even before she became a mother-of-two, which likely explains why she hasn’t signed up for Instagram yet. "We're not representing our lives truthfully," she once told The Times about her decision to stay private online. "I will not take a selfie that I can't erase. I don't post or do any of that stuff."

7 4. Kate Winslet

6

Titanic actress Kate Winslet is a busy mother to a daughter and two sons: Mia (born in 2000), Joe (born in 2003), and Bear (born in 2013). She once explained that she feels social media is unhealthy for self-image, which is why fans can expect to never see her open an Instagram account.

"It has a huge impact on young women's self-esteem, because all they ever do is design themselves for people to like them," she once told The Sunday Times. "And what comes along with that? Eating disorders. And that makes my blood boil. And is the reason we don't have any social media in our house."

5 3. Keira Knightley

Keira Knightley, who is currently expecting her second child, is one famous mama who doesn’t have any social media accounts. The actress got hitched to English musician James Righton in 2013 and welcomed their child, daughter Edie, in 2014. However, she and her family prefer to keep a low-profile, which is why they don’t share photos of their growing family online.

"I did actually join Twitter for about 12 hours because I tried to be down with the kids and it just creeped me out," Keira explained during an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show. "I didn't post anything and I was under a false name and I think because Chloe [Grace Moretz] followed me, suddenly all these people started following me […] and I just got completely freaked out.”

4 2. Julia Roberts

3

We would love to follow Pretty Woman’s Julia Roberts online, if only she had an Instagram account! But the actress once revealed that she hasn’t signed up for the app because she feels it would be too distracting.

"I mean, we were talking about Instagram. Everyone has Instagram on their phone. And I just, yeah, [if I had it] I would be looking at it all the time,” she told InStyle in 2016. The actress has been married to Daniel Moder since 2002. Together the couple has three children: twins Phinnaeus and Hazel (born in 2004) and son Henry (born in 2007).

2 1. Amal Clooney

1

Amal Clooney is another famous mother who doesn’t enjoy spending time on social media. The humanitarian lawyer married George Clooney in 2014 and welcomed their twins, Ella and Alexander, in 2017. However, neither of the two have their own social media pages.

Many fans speculate that Amal’s high-profile job may dissuade her from having an online presence (or the fact that she’s busy balancing work with her babies). George has spoken about his dislike for social media in the past, explaining he fears he’d do something he couldn’t take back. "I could easily say something stupid, and I also don’t think you need to be that available," he once told Variety.
