We've had a lot of time on our hands recently, what with not being able to actually go anywhere or do anything. As such, we've been watching a lot of TV! We've spent this time catching up on shows we lost track of, rewatching old favorites, and falling in love with new shows. One of current obsessions is Workin' Moms on Netflix. It's a comedy-drama about a group of friends trying to balance kids, marriage, career, and life. And it's so funny and so incredibly relatable that we can't stop watching. It premiered in Canada on CBC Television in 2017, but thanks to Netflix, we're able to binge all four seasons here in the states! We've watched it so many times that we're basically on a first name basis with the cast at this point.

And because we love them so much in Workin' Moms, it got us wondering where else we can see their work. If you're new to the show and want a little background on the actors, or you're deeply obsessed like us and want to know everything you can about them, let's get to know the Workin' Moms cast and what they were doing before they hit it big with this show.

Catherine Reitman (Kate Foster)

Even before we watched Workin' Moms, we recognized Catherine's name. That's because she's got quite the Hollywood pedigree! Catherine is the sister of director Jason Reitman, and both her parents are in the business. She's been acting for years, appearing in films like Knocked Up, I Love You, Man, and Friends with Benefits.

In 2016, Catherine and her husband Philip Sternberg founded Wolf & Rabbit Entertainment ULC, which produces Workin' Moms. Catherine is the creator, executive producer, writer, and one of the stars of the show, playing Kate Foster.

Dani Kind (Anne Carlson)

We seriously love Anne Carlson on the show - the way she relates to her tween daughter is just so real. And we couldn't imagine anyone but Dani Kind playing Anne! Dani has been acting professionally since 2002, and has tons of credits to her name.

But fans of the Canadian actress probably recognize her most from her work on Workin' Moms, or for her role as Mercedes Gardner on the sci-fi western show Wynonna Earp. Fun fact: Dani landed both roles in 2017 and continues to film both shows!

Juno Rinaldi (Frankie Coyne)

Juno Rinaldi is an accomplished playwright and theater actor in Canada, and even co-founded a dark comedy theater troupe called Theatre Melee. She's appeared in several Canadian TV shows like How to Buy a Baby, Degrassi: The Next Generation, and Girl in the Bunker. She's also appeared in feature films like Life and It Chapter Two. As Frankie on Workin' Moms, Juno's storyline resonates with a lot of moms struggling with PPD.

Jessalyn Wanlim (Jenny Matthews)

As Jenny Matthews, Jessalyn Wanlim's storyline on the show brings alllllll the drama. She plays a new mom with a demanding job who happens to develop some feelings for her new boss. Before Workin' Moms, the Calgary-native appeared on the creepy show Orphan Black, but you may also recognize her from her recurring role on daytime soap fave All My Children. Jessalyn is also a new (working) mom herself - her son was born in January 2020.

Philip Sternberg (Nathan Foster)

Philip Sternberg plays Nathan Foster, husband to Kate Foster, on the show. And it's a little bit of art imitating life, since Philip and Catherine Reitman are real-life husband and wife too! Philip co-founded the production company behind Workin' Moms with wife Catherine, and he's also delivered several hit shows for CBC as president of Candor Entertainment.

We love seeing the chemistry between Philip and Catherine onscreen. Funnily enough, Philip hadn't acted professionally since 2006 before he and Catherine created Workin' Moms. So he came out of semi-retirement to star in a show opposite his wife, that he created ... with his wife! You love to see it.

Ryan Belleville (Lionel Carlson)

Ryan Belleville plays Anne's husband Lionel on the show, and he brings a lot of well-timed comedic relief and plenty of laughs in the role. Which makes sense, considering he's a comedian and stand-up comic by trade! The Canadian-born actor and comic has been working in the industry for years, doing stand-up and appearing on several hit TV shows in Canada like Almost Heroes, which he also co-wrote.

He also has several voice actor credits to his name, like providing voices for Hotel Transylvania: The Series. It's pretty funny that he ended up playing Lionel, husband to Anne, who's played by Dani Kind - Ryan actually appeared on Wynonna Earp the year before Anne joined that cast. Small world!
