Celebrities look a little different in 2020 then they did in 1985. Celebrities are not just those who sing or star in movies and TV. Those who are on YouTube can now be considered celebrities in their own right and that is because of the huge influence they have due to their online platform. People follow their lives and they become invested, and they also have a lot to say about them. Myka Stauffer and her husband have learned the hard way about what happens when you share your life online.

To give the cliffs notes version of their story, they are a family who vlogs their life and they had adopted a young boy from China, Huxley. They were told that Huxley had autism, but at the time they were willing to bring him home and get him all the support he needed. They recently revealed in a video that they had rehomed Huxley because they were unable to provide for him the care that he needed. The public did not react well to this, and because so little information was offered about where Huxley went, people got worried.

An investigation was opened about where Huxley was, and there is now an official report that says that the Ohio police have officially closed the case investigating the family. According to BuzzfeedNews, deputies in Ohio have been able to conform that Huxley is “very happy and well taken care of” and that his new adoption is completely legal.

The authorities also said that they would not be filing any charges against the YouTube family. The case was initially opened when the office received numerous calls for a welfare check on Huxley after the YouTube video was released.

Deputy Susanna Leonard was one who went to check on Huxley. She stated that when she walked in, Huxley was sitting on his new adopted mother’s lap smiling while she was singing to him. She also said that he appeared to be very happy and well taken care of.

There were no signs of neglect or abuse when it came to Huxley and there was no further reason for the police department to be concerned. While many criticized the family for what they had done, there were some who were actually relieved. They felt that it was the smart thing to do when they realized that they could not provide the proper care that Huxley needed and deserved. Regardless of which side anyone is on, it is reassuring to know that Huxley is safe and happy.
