If you're not following Bunmi Laditan, you are definitely missing out! She's an author and creator of The Honest Toddler, some of the funniest, most real parenting content you can find on the internet. When she's not dispensing supportive and beautiful words about mothering and just being your best self, she's cracking us up with her daily musings about life and her kids and everything in between.

Seriously, she is so funny, refreshing, and yes, honest! This parenting thing is amazing, but if we're being honest, sometimes it's a real kick in the teeth. And while some people love to read about how perfect other moms and kids and families are, most of us really like to know that we're not the only ones out there phoning it in sometimes.

Laditan shared a picture on Facebook of the gourmet meal her kids would be enjoying for dinner one night, and we have to say, we laughed way too hard at this! And we also related like WHOA.

As you can see from the picture, her kids would be enjoying a delicious dinner of takeout fried chicken, french fries, and what appear to be carrots just plucked from the ground. Now, we would absolutely eat this meal! Fried chicken? Yep. French fries? Absolutely. Carrots?

Well ... OK, we guess there should be an actual healthy vegetable in the mix, so why not! But it wasn't the picture itself that's funny (although it kind of is). It's the way Laditan describes this amazing and bountiful meal for her kids.

You might see fried chicken, but she sees possibly organic chicken that's been cooked in canola essential oils! Those french fries you might be judging her for serving? Not fries at all, but spears of the finest Irish potatoes. The carrots really need no explanation, but apparently not washing them keep their dirty, mineral goodness intact! The best part is dessert: no actual dessert, but her kids are free to google pictures of delicious treats and use their imaginations, LOL.

So what it all boils down to is this: it's not about what you feed your kiddos. It's all in the presentation and intention. Now we need some maybe free-range canola essential oil chicken. Sounds delightful!
