Sometimes we are reminded about just how generous children can be, and one little boy did that when he sacrificed birthday gifts to give to other children. This year has been hard on a lot of people, and parents have had to sacrifice gifts and presents because of their financial situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the holidays coming up, this means that a lot of children may not receive the amount of gifts they have gotten in the past.

According to The Courier Express, one little boy wanted to try and change that, and he did so in a completely selfless way when he gave up his birthday gifts for the year. Spencer’s 8th birthday was coming up and his mom heard that the local Toys for Tots budget was cut in half, and she wanted to do something about that.

Spencer and his mom talked about the situation, and Spencer said that he wanted to give gifts to other children, because he knows that there are children out there who don’t have any toys or who only have one toy and maybe they want something else. Spencer then started to collect toys by handing out letters to his classmates and teachers asking for help.

Spencer was asked about how he felt delivering the toys, and he said that he was "very happy" with what he was doing. It is not very common to see a young child willing and eager to sacrifice getting birthday gifts to make sure that other children have something.

Spencer was able to collect toys and money to help the organization make sure other children had a Merry Christmas. The toys were all donated through the Marine Toys for Tots program.

Their website states that their aim is to collect toys for children who are not as fortunate as others at Christmas time. They hope that through toy donations, children are able to experience the joy of Christmas and send them all a message of hope that people out there are thinking of them.

Spencer was definitely thinking of all of them. The program has helped millions of children and their average donation numbers are inspiring. Every year they donate an average of 18 million toys to 7 million children all across the US. With the help of Spencer, they have been able to bring joy to even more children.
