A First Look At Brand-New Preschool Series Blue’s Clues & You!

Blue’s Clues & You

Blue's Clues is back! Blue's Clues first aired on Nick Jr. back in 1996 and quickly grew a loyal following of children and parents alike who loved to watch the adorable puppy Blue and his owner Steve solve a variety of puzzles with the help of their many friends. Steve eventually left the show, replaced by his "brother" Joe, played by Donovan Patton, before going off the air for good in 2006. The beloved children's show is now back and has been revamped with a new host, new look, but still, the old friends' fans have grown to love.

Nick Jr. just released the first trailer for the upcoming series Blue's Clues & You and it is definitely ready for an entirely new generation of fans. Broadway actor Joshua Dela Cruz stars as Josh, Blue's human best friend who is ready to help solve any puzzle thrown his way. Fans of the original series will be thrilled to see that the Thinking Chair is still a part of the show and that Josh has his very own Handy Dandy Notebook to write down the clues he and Blue need to solve puzzles. Blue's friends are all back including Tickety Tock, Slippery Soap, Shovel and Pail, Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper, Cinnamon and Paprika, and even Magenta!

Josh is definitely making the role his own, sporting his own signature purple striped shirt and while the songs are a bit different, he seems to have adopted some of Steve Burns' mannerisms when singing to the camera. Burns had previously told Entertainment Weekly that he definitely was "a part of the search for the new host,” adding, “I give Josh two thumbs up! He can definitely fill my shoes, and the rugby shirt.”

“From the moment we decided to make a new version of the series, we knew that so much of the energy and magic of the show comes from the host’s ability to bring preschoolers into the colorfully animated world of Blue and her friends,” Cathy Galeota, Nickelodeon Group’s senior vice president of preschool content told EW. “Josh’s wonderful theater background and his natural charisma checked all the boxes for us, and of course Steve’s stamp of approval only solidified our decision.”

Fans new and old will be able to watch Josh and Blue and all their friends solve their puzzles while dancing and singing when Blue's Clues & You returns to Nick Jr. in November. Check out the trailer and ready to solve some puzzles!
