Bindi Irwin's got a lot of work to do planning her wedding to Chandler Powell. There are so many things she needs to get in order before she walks down the aisle. And she has a lot of decisions to make. Some will be easier than others. One of those decisions? Her younger brother Robert Irwin will be the one to walk her down the aisle.

“I think that for me, it’ll be really important that Robert walks me down the aisle,” she told Entertainment Tonight after the engagement announcement. “That’s something that I really want to do.”

Since their father's death, Bindi and Robert have been incredibly close. The siblings clearly spend a lot of time together doing their conservation work. And they're only a few years apart in age. Both were very young when their dad died, so the tragedy has clearly bonded them.

“I’m always so grateful that Robert is there, and he has been such a big part of my life and he’s always stepped up and been the one to give me a hug when I need it and encourage me forward in life,” she explained about their bond as siblings.

As further proof of their close relationship, Robert actually played a part in her engagement. When Bindi's now fiancee, Chandler Powell proposed, Robert was right there. Robert, who is also a photographer, hid so that he could take pictures as Powell popped the question. "Chandler and Robert worked together to capture the moment I said ‘YES’" she wrote on Instagram. So they would always have photos to commemorate the exact moment she said yes.

Irwin actually shared the pictures Robert took of the proposal on Instagram. "I never even knew Robert was there photographing and I’ll always be grateful to have these special memories of the most amazing day of my life," she captioned the photo.

Because of their relationship, having Robert walk her down the aisle makes perfect sense. There aren't too many roles in a wedding befitting the closeness of their relationship. But as Bindi says, "he will definitely be the one to walk me down the aisle when the time comes, and I think that will make it really special."

And even though her dad isn't here to give his seal of approval, Irwin is sure that Steve would approve. "I think that’s what dad would have wanted as well," she said.
