Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans was fired earlier in the summer after her husband, David Eason, admitted to shooting and killing their family dog, a French Bulldog named Nugget.  Eason stated that the dog had bitten daughter Ensley in the face, so he felt justified in shooting the dog. The public was outraged and MTV responded swiftly by announcing that Evans wouldn’t be returning to the reality show. Now Evans’ mother Barbara Evans is speaking out claiming her daughter was treated unfairly, especially since Amber Portwood is still employed by the company.

Portwood was arrested in July on a number of charges including domestic battery and criminal recklessness committed with a deadly weapon for allegedly assaulting boyfriend Andrew Glennon while he was holding their son James. Recently audio was leaked to the Without A Crystal Ball vlog that features Portwood threatening to kill Glennon and implies that she is physically assaulting Glennon as he holds their son. Still, Portwood has yet to be fired by MTV, something Barbara Evans thinks is completely unfair.

“Why should Jenelle and I lose our money, and why is MTV supporting Amber when Jenelle and I have done nothing wrong?” Barbara commented to RadarOnline. “We were on [the show] for 10 years too, and they stopped filming with us.”

“Why is this fair? Why were we let go, and she wasn’t?”

“MTV supports her and isn’t taking her off the show,” Barbara reiterated. She also went to comment on her loss of income since Jenelle’s firing, with Radar stating that both women were paid $400,000 per season.

“Jenelle and I made the same amount of money,” Barbara told Radar. “I make the same amount of money as Jenelle and the other girls on the show. This is not fair.”

A source close to Amber told the website that the two situations are completely different. “Amber didn’t kill a dog,” the source said. “And she has not been convicted of a crime.”

Co-star Tyler Baltierra commented on the Portwood situation when asked by one fan if they will campaign to have Amber fired from the show as they did with former co-star Farrah Abraham.

“We never “fought” producers to get Farrah off the show, we don’t have that much power, unfortunately. We just expressed our concerns to the producers about that situation. Which is EXACTLY what we did today about this current situation with Amber. This whole thing is devastating!” he wrote.

According to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, executives have yet to make a decision regarding Portwood’s fate on the show. For now, Evans is still fired and Portwood still has her job.
