Christmas songs are typically earworms that we'll find ourselves singing along with even when they're not on. Since we only hear them once a year for maybe two months, we can almost bear the repeated playing of Jingle Bells. But, if you're a parent, you're used to hearing the same songs over and over again. Chances are you've heard of a little earworm called "Baby Shark." If you haven't, you must live under a rock. Well, get ready to wish you lived under a rock because the creators of "Baby Shark" are back with a holiday edition. That's right, now there's "Santa Shark."

But why? Because the internet hates parents, that's why. It's bad enough that our kids have been subjecting us to "Baby Shark" for as long as we can remember. For those who may not be aware, YouTube channel PinkFong is credited with creating "Baby Shark," which has been around since at least 2016 or so. This summer, the tune went viral, spawning its own internet challenge and everything. Parents everywhere were being tormented on a whole new level — not only were we hearing it in our houses, we were then hearing it all over the internet.

So, it's no surprise that we have been #blessed (or cursed, depending on how you look at it) with a new holiday version of "Baby Shark." Obviously, the creators know they have a good thing and didn't really deviate much from the original script. So, instead of singing "Baby shark, doo, doo, do-do, do-do," now it's "Santa shark, doo, doo, do-do, do-do." This way, no one will have any trouble remembering the lyrics. In the accompanying video, we see Santa shark in all of his North Pole glory. Joining him (because remember, this is a group song) are his faithful reindeer sharks and elf sharks. Because, this Santa we're talking about.

Once the crew is assembled, they begin, "making toys doo, doo, do-do, do-do." It certainly reinforces both the Santa myth and also that you will find yourself humming it while you wrap Christmas presents this year. Maybe you'll be lucky enough that your kids won't hear it, but now you'll be singing it for the rest of the holiday season.
