What’s the beef between Teen Mom co-stars Ashley Jones and Jade Cline? Find out here.
Last year during the Teen Mom 2 Reunion on MTV, Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant star Ashley Jones had a very public meltdown on live television, throwing shade at Teen Mom co-stars and especially at recent Teen Mom 2 member, Jade Cline.
At the time, it might have seemed like this explosive reaction came out of nowhere, but according to Jones herself, tension had been brewing long before the reunion.
Following October's blow-up reunion episode, Ashley Jones took to her YouTube page to tell her side of the story. In a two-part video, Jones explained that the producers for Teen Mom 2 were looking to recruit a new member of the cast from Young and Pregnant, looking at both herself as well as Cline. This is the source of their feud and would lead to Jones becoming isolated from the rest of the cast.
According to Jones, the producers asked both Young and Pregnant co-stars to move to Teen Mom 2. Jones refused, citing the fact she wasn't offered a raise and that Teen Mom's producers were asking for greater, "more invasive" access into her personal life. Cline, meanwhile, didn't have a problem with either of these conditions.
After Cline accepted the offer, Jones sent a congratulatory text to Cline but received no response. Jones found out later that Cline had become upset because she believed that Jones was the preferred candidate for Teen Mom 2, while Cline was a backup choice. Jones refutes this, saying that they were both asked at the same time and neither mom was preferred over the other.
This rising tension led to Cline requesting "additional security" at the reunion episode--a request that caught Jones by surprise. The producers approached her before the episode to ask if she was "OK to be on stage with [Cline]," eventually resulting in the two being seated on opposite ends of the stage.
In her second vlog, Jones explained that she told the producers she didn't want to discuss Cline's move to Teen Mom 2, which the producers ignored. This eventually blew up during the broadcast, resulting in Jones being escorted off stage by security.
Today, the two Teen Mom co-stars steer clear of one another, something that is at least easier to do now that they’re not on the same show.
