An artist has created a spook to Disney’s It’s a Small World, with “It’s A Woke World After All.” Disney has been named one of the most family-friendly and inclusive companies right now. While there have been depictions in the past that have not been culturally appropriate or sensitive, the company has made changes and is striving for representation and inclusivity for all. However, this does not come without backlash from people that are not happy with the changes that they are making.

According to Washington Examiner, one animator is not a fan of how “woke” Disney has become and they took it upon themselves to make a parody video pointing out their view on what Disney has become and is becoming. The video is based on the popular Disney ride, It’s A Small World After All.

The video, which the user uploaded to his Twitter account, shows someone on the ride, and instead of the usual song we are all used to it was set to what he perceives as a “dark, woke future.”

The words in the song have also been changed, and included are lines about what he believes Disney has become. He refers to them as “re-education camps” and the rides passes by Chinese Communist Poster propaganda as well as a school chalkboard stating that “All Whites Are Racist.” He also points out that ticket sales are based on the race of the person who is entering the park. With labels saying that if you are Black you can access the “fast lane,” but if you are White then you must wait in line to get in.

This is definitely not a version of Disney that a lot of parents agree with, or want their children exposed to. However, awareness is key because youth are very involved with the online world and this may be the type of content that they are exposed to. The video also shows a ‘hall of oppression’ that features various Black athletes before showing a Black president asleep in the White House. The creator captioned his tweet by saying that Walt Disney was a “patriot” and that he would be “appalled” at the current stated of Disney and the entire company. While it seems that the world was on its way to becoming a more equal place, there are still those out there who believe that these changes are not for the better.
