Little Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born almost two weeks ago on May 6, and since then, we've been anxiously awaiting any and all updates on the newest member of the royal family! The pictures released by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were a welcome surprise, since reports said they wouldn't be releasing pictures until they were ready. His little nose! Meghan and Harry's bewildered smiles! The family picture with the Queen and Doria Ragland! Clearly, this new family is head-over-heels in love with their little guy, and we couldn't be happier for them.
But, like, we would still like some details (only those they want to share, of course!). A lot of people are curious about the delivery, since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex chose to do pregnancy and delivery their own way. No royal baby suite at Lindo Wing. No immediate introduction to the baby on the steps of the hospital. For a while, people speculated if Meghan would give birth at home. Well, we know a bit more about where and when Archie was born now - his official birth certificate has been made public!

Meghan and Harry didn't opt for a home birth, after all. Archie was born on May 6 at the private Portland Hospital in Westminster. We love that they didn't do the whole royal birth thing at Lindo Wing. It seems like a lot of pressure to get camera ready and parade your newborn around for photographers and reporters hours after birth!
By delivering Archie at a private hospital near their home at Frogmore Cottage, the Duke and Duchess were able to enjoy those first few days of parenthood with their new little guy.

Aside from the place of birth, the birth certificate doesn't reveal much more we didn't already know. His birth details like weight and length aren't included in the document. B
ut there is one part that made us chuckle: the name and surname of mother. Now, we know her as Meghan Markle, or Duchess of Sussex. But did you know her real first name is Rachel? Which explains why she's listed on the birth certificate as "Rachel Meghan Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex". That is quite the mouthful! We're just so happy for the new family, and we can't wait to see and hear more about Archie!
