If mom and dad are looking for a new and fun game console for their family, the new Amico may be the right choice. Families have been searching for things to do at home, things to keep them occupied and to bond more, and video games may actually be the right choice. The Amico video game system is made by Intellivision Entertainment, and it is coming. According to Venture Beat, the console was supposed to be released in October, but the launch date has been pushed back.
The console is aimed at getting family members back together again, and the company claims that it is perfect for both young and old members of the family. We know that the company has already announced 20 games for the reboot, but they are apparently working on an additional 30 games with the goal of making them fun and educational. However, there is even more to know about this product and we decided to explore all the details about how much this unit will cost, how many people can play and if it truly is family friendly.
Is Amico REALLY Family Friendly?
A lot of moms likely want to know if this product is really family friendly. The term “family friendly” can be subjective, as everyone has a different idea of what can be considered appropriate for the entire family. According to the FAQ section on Intellivision Amico’s website, the company takes the term very seriously.
All of their games are deemed appropriate for children of any age. None of them will contain any graphic violence/blood, bad language or explicit content. Furthermore, there are no in-game purchases so mom doesn’t need to worry about her children purchasing additional content.
When Can We Get Amico & How Much Is Amico Going To Cost?
Unfortunately, this is not something that you will be able to put under the Christmas tree for your little one because its scheduled release date isn’t until April 15th, 2021. It will first be available in major retailers across Europe and North America, but it will be branching out to the rest of the world soon after.
The cost is not that bad, and prices will start at just $249. Mom needs to keep in mind that this will include the console, two controllers and 6 games.
Keeping Up With Technology
Since the Amico system only comes with 2 controllers, they have come up with a great way to make sure that every single person can play. Families can purchase additional controllers, but there is a more cost-effective option. They have designed a free mobile app for both Android and Apple, and this app will let a cellular phone be used as a controller. The console can have up to 8 controllers (or cell phones) hooked up to it at once.
Wanting A Unique Color Amico?
As of right now, the only colors of the system that will be widely available will be the basic white and black. However, there are going to be some limited-edition consoles that come in woodgrain, red or purple.
The Amico System Looks ‘Different’!
Many people have noticed that the system and the controllers look unique and vastly different to the other systems on the market, and there is good reason for that. The company has said that they are different, and they wanted their system to reflect that and let people know right away.
When it comes to why their controllers look a little different, this required a lot of thought from the company. They want their console to be inclusive, and something that everyone can easily play with no difficulties. After many review and polls, the design they choose seemed to be the easiest for anyone to use, from young children to grandparents.
Wi-Fi & Plug Problems?
Access to the internet is not something that is required for this system, according to their website. The only time a family would need an internet connection is when they are downloading games. The system does not need any internet connection to play the games already loaded.
Another concern some parents may have about this console is if they can actually plug it in. North America and Europe have very different outlet shapes and sizes. If an event arises that the plug does not work with what your region has, they have arranged for it to be plugged in using an adapter or cable available where you live.
