Just a few days after MTV star Amber Portwood was arrested on charges of domestic violence her live-in boyfriend, Andrew Glennon has reportedly filed for sole custody of their son, James. Portwood was arrested after Glennon alleged that she struck him while he was holding the couple's son.

According to TMZ Glennon filed for an emergency hearing to obtain sole custody of 1-year-old James, as per court documents. In the early morning hours of July 5, Glennon texted 911 to claiming he felt that his life and that of his son were in danger. TMZ obtained a police report that states Glennon texted "I need help," and "my life and my son’s life is in danger" to emergency services.

In the report Glennon alleges that Portwood struck him with her shoe on the right side of his neck, leaving marks. Fortunately, he stated that his child was unhurt but he did admit to police that it wasn't the first time that Portwood had hit him. "Ms. Portwood grew increasingly agitated until she struck him with her shoe in the right side of his neck," the court document reads. "The officer observed scratches and red marks on [Andrew’s] neck. An evidence technician took photographs of the injuries," the affidavit states. "[Andrew] told officers that Portwood has hit him several times in the past and has threatened him countless times. Portwood told police she was angry that her boyfriend had recorded her yelling."

While Portwood did admit to striking Glennon with her shoe, she "stated that ‘it was in the shoulder and I barely hit him.'"

Fans of the Teen Mom franchise have been witness to Portwood's temper and physical outbursts throughout the years. She was previously arrested for domestic violence following an assault on Gary Shirley, her former boyfriend, and father of their daughter, Leah.

Neither Portwood nor Glennon have commented publicly on the arrest or custody filing. Portwood has been very open during the past about her struggles with mental illness, being diagnosed with both bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder. During one episode she speaks with co-star Catelynn Baltierra, who has also dealt with mental illness, and said the pressure of being on the show and in the public eye is taking a toll on her. "I just happen to be on a popular show with a mental illness that is real. It’s complete sabotage when you’re called a horrible mom every day," she said.

Both Portwood and Glennon were scheduled to film the Teen Mom OG reunion this coming weekend in NYC, but there is no word on how this current situation will affect that, according to Ashley's Reality Roundup. Portwood is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
