Amber Portwood To Address Domestic Battery Charge On Teen Mom OG Reunion

It seems like every day, there's another Teen Mom drama to catch up on! The show itself is in its eighth season, with stars from the original series returning to share what their lives have been like after being thrust into reality TV fame as teen parents. Clearly, the type of show Teen Mom is relies on the drama for good TV - people don't tune in for the dialogue, they tune in for the tea! But even for a show designed to showcase drama, Teen Mom has had more than its fair share. Some of the original stars of the show appear to be doing pretty well, having settled into life as young parents with their partners and jobs. But others can't seem to get it together, and we watch week after week as they get into trouble or dangerous situations.

One of the most plagued of the original moms, Amber Portwood, has been in the news quite a bit lately. Earlier this summer, 29-year-old Portwood was arrested and charged with domestic battery, criminal recklessness committed with a deadly weapon and domestic battery committed in the presence of a child less than 16 years old, after she allegedly attacked boyfriend Andrew Glennon while he was holding their one-year-old son, James. Now, it looks like Amber will try to tell her side of the story in a sit-down with Dr. Drew on the Teen Mom OG reunion show.

In a police affidavit, Glennon says that on July 5, Amber Portwood swallowed a handful of pills and threatened to kill herself. After Glennon told Portwood he would call for help, she threw up the pills, the picked up a machete and attacked him while their son James was in his arms. Portwood was arrested, and days later, Glennon filed for sole custody of James.

In a teaser for the reunion show, Portwood is seen sitting across from Dr. Drew, apparently to discuss the incident. She's heard asking if Dr. Drew could speak to her lawyers, apparently to get some sort of reassurance that Portwood can speak about the pending court case. She then says she really wants to get her side of the story out. Time will tell what, exactly, Portwood's side is. Guess we'll have to tune in to find out.
