'Dance Moms' Abby Lee Miller Offers Prison Advice To Felicity Huffman

It was back in May 2017 that Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller entered prison to begin her jail sentence for bankruptcy fraud. The Lifetime star served eight months and was released in March 2018. She’s since returned to the show that made her a household name and is even currently working on a new scripted dance show. Miller has some words of advice on how to deal with prison for actress Felicity Huffman, who was recently sentenced to 14 days in jail and a $30,000 fine for her role in the college admissions scandal.

“Well the first day going in is the most stressful, then after that, she is going to be in a big, huge room with bunk beds, tons of them. That’s where they first put you to get acclimated to the prison life,” Miller explained to the press at the Creative Arts Emmys she attended on Saturday.

“She’s not going to get a job because she won’t be there long enough. She’s not going to learn how to be a plumber and how to do HVAC and how to do all the things that you have to do to go over to the men’s prison’s and do. That’s why they have camps. That’s why women are in a prison so we can go make lunches when they all get in a fight. It’s ridiculous. It is the most absurd nonsense you have ever seen in your life,” Miller noted.

Miller told Us Magazine that the prison sentence won’t hurt Huffman’s career and that it actually may help it. “She’ll come out. She’ll make a huge movie out of it. She’ll make millions of dollars.”

The reality star also said that prison allowed her the time she needed to focus on herself. “My life was dedicated to other people’s children. I made other people’s children stars and financially set for the rest of their lives,” she said, before adding that her prison sentence meant she “got to work on me.”

“I took a real estate class. I took a finance class. I made friends with women that I don’t think should have been there either,” she added.

She did note one positive about jail saying, “I loved the bathroom, it was huge, the shower stalls were like six-feet by six-feet, and you had your own and you could brush your teeth for 45 minutes.”
