A Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack is available for pre-order this holiday season and it has been formatted in what is a very unique way these days - a cassette tape!
A Peanuts classic and holiday tradition for many is watching A Charlie Brown Christmas. And while some may enjoy listening to the soundtrack from the Christmas movie, for those who still like things a bit more retro, according to Fox Business, the soundtrack is being re-released on a cassette tape in a limited supply.
According to the Facebook page for Craft Recordings, the version of the soundtrack is back in cassette version for the first time in 30 years. And given the desire for younger generations enjoying all things retro as well as some who have held onto their cassette players from decades ago, it is a novel item to have indeed.
Craft Recordings included in their Facebook post that the soundtrack will be limited to "5,000 units worldwide." And while it will not be released to the public at large until November 5, it is available now for pre-order from both Craft Records and Amazon for $12.99 and $12.09, respectively.
The cassette comes in a sparkling silver shade and includes all of the favorites from the iconic movie. And considering the movie made its television debut on December 9, 1965, there are generations of Peanuts fans who have watched it so many times that the music alone will transport them back to an age when things were a bit simpler.
For those who perhaps enjoy listening to their music in a retro way but the cassette is not the music medium of their choice, according to Fox Business, there is a vinyl version of the soundtrack available for purchase as well.
The announcement from Craft Recordings states that the vinyl version is available for purchase now. And just like the cassette version, there is only a limited number of records that have been pressed for purchase.
Several versions of the vinyl soundtrack have been released to suit every Peanuts fans' needs.
While all versions are wrapped in "elegant silver foil," per the company announcement, there is a sparkling silver record, records that come in a variety of fall colors, and the standard black LP as well. They are available for purchase at Amazon, Walmart, Target, the company website, and more. The records range in price from $22.99 to $43.91.
With the soundtracks for It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown already sold out for Halloween, it is likely that the Christmas soundtrack will follow suit. As such, for those who may be interested in any version of this soundtrack, do not delay. Ring in the holidays and feel nostalgic with A Charlie Brown's Christmas soundtrack.
