Like any kid who grew up in the '90s, I was a huge Britney Spears fan. I enjoyed her hit songs "...Baby One More Time" and "Lucky" and sang along, imagining that someday I would be a famous pop singer like her (like a lot of little girls do, of course). Everyone remembers the days when she and Justin Timberlake were an item (and when they wore denim outfits, which was too cute).

Now that I'm older, I've found it fascinating to watch Britney become a mom, and she is definitely doing an amazing job. Britney has two sons with her ex-husband Kevin Federline: 13-year-old Sean and 12-year-old Jayden. Although things didn't work out between her and Kevin and they have been split up for quite a few years now, she's moving forward and raising her kids. Britney is still an inspiring force to be reckoned with in the music world and has had some hit singles in the past few years. Fans still consider her to be a talented singer and performer, and now that she's a parent, it's cool to watch her go through that journey.

Here are 20 things to know about how pop star Britney Spears raises her kids.

20 Solo Mom Of Boys Who Believes They Always Come First

One thing that people should definitely know about Britney Spears is that she's not only a boy mom but a solo mom as well. She has been raising her two sons since her divorce from Kevin Federline.

People magazine quoted her as saying, “My kids come first, always. There is nothing more rewarding than being a mom and watching my sons grow into young men. I am so lucky that I get to experience all of life’s adventures with them.”

This is great to hear and makes Britney even more loveable. Isn't this how every mom would describe her kids? Talk about sweet.

19 Her Sense Of Style Has Changed

Fans of Britney Spears know that she had a certain sense of style. It was fit for a pop star and included lots of dresses. I always remember the red plastic outfit that she wore in her video for "Oops... I Did It Again."

Britney says that she has changed the way that she dresses now that she's a mom. She has been quoted as saying, "It’s tricky because as a mother, you don’t take as much risk with your style. I think when I was younger I took so many risks and really went for it. There was no planning what I wore, and it was like, OK, I am just going to put on the most outrageous thing. I think as a mother you hold back from that out of [worry] of embarrassing your kids and out of respect for them.”

18 She Takes Math Classes To Help Her Kids With Their Homework

Britney helps her kids with homework and has said that she takes Math classes herself. Broadly.vice.com quoted the star as saying, "They go to a really hard school, and this week we had three hours of homework [a night]. Some of it is hard for me. Next year when [Preston’s] in fifth grade, he’s going to be doing pre-algebra, and I’m taking classes so I know how to do it!"

I think this is just about the coolest thing that I've ever heard, especially since I struggled with Math as a kid (and as a teenager, too). Major props to Britney for being such a committed mom.

17 She Set Up A Toy A Month Reward System

Britney Spears rewards her sons for doing their homework. InStyle quoted her as saying, "We have a reward system that helps motivate them: if they get so many As, they get one toy a month."

Every mom does something different when it comes to inspiring their kids to work hard, but this sounds like a pretty good idea. When we think about it, we give ourselves treats and rewards for a job well done, like ordering in our favorite take-out, so this strategy definitely works for kids, too. I would have loved to get toys (or books) for doing homework. It sounds so nice.

16 Instilling A Love Of Reading

Jax Moms Blog says that Britney Spears reads to her kids. This is definitely a really important thing for moms to do. It's truly wonderful when children grow up loving to read and they learn so much about the world and human behavior and certain topics. It's also just nice to be entertained by a story.

I was the kind of kid who never stopped reading, and I would sit on the floor of a bookstore and debate between which novel to get. I love that Britney seems to be instilling a love of reading and books in her two sons. I wonder what their favorite books are?

15 Embracing How Different Her Two Boys Are

While of course, some siblings will be more similar than others, parents learn pretty quickly that they have to treat their kids as separate people because that's what they are.

Britney has said that she knows that her two boys are different from one another and she loves that. InStyle quoted her as saying, "Preston is very opinionated, very expressive, and if he doesn't like something, he's going to tell you. But he has a huge heart, he's a good kid and he has manners … Jayden is sweet, very soft-spoken, kinda funny. He's adorable—a momma's boy." (Her son's name is Sean Preston, so it seems like she calls him both Sean and Preston in different interviews.)

14 A Possible Third Kid

Us Weekly says that Britney wants to have another baby and she wants to have one with her boyfriend, Sam Asghari, who she has been with for around two years.

It can be tough to figure out how many kids you want to have and how big you want your family to be. It's interesting to hear that Britney thinks that another kid could be in her future, and we'll be following along to see if she does end up expanding her lovely family. Moms with two kids who are thinking about having a third child can for sure relate to the pop star's wish for another baby.

13 Family Hikes

Jax Moms Blog writes that Britney and her family go on a lot of hikes.

It's common to hear that people who live in California love to hike, and it's adorable when a family does this outdoor activity together. If you're raising your kids in a place without any mountains or places to hike, then sure, you might not be able to do this. But moms could get inspired by Britney and do more outdoor, sporty things with their children, like going for long walks or playing baseball in the park. It's a great way to spend an afternoon when the weather isn't too freezing cold.

12 Her Boys Love To Skateboard And She Takes Them To The Skate Park

According to Buzzfeed, Britney's sons love to skateboard and she goes to skate parks with them.

This is really cool because not every mom would be willing to do that. We can definitely see some moms thinking that their kids shouldn't be skateboarding or wanting them to do something else. But there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with skateboarding -- it's a fun activity and gets kids outside and doing something active. It's awesome that Britney lets her sons explore this interest. We wonder if she has ever done some skateboarding herself? We bet that she would have some amazing moves of her own.

11 She Writes Songs About Being A Mom Now

Britney is known for many hit songs, and her hit singles when she was younger and at the beginning of her career were mostly about dating, love, and being a girl but not yet a woman. Since then, she has changed some of the topics that she writes and sings about, which is cool to see.

She has written songs about being a mom, and her 2008 song "My Baby" includes the lyrics, "How did I get through all of my days without you?"

It's hard to imagine more beautiful lyrics. Every mom would agree that they feel that way about their children.

10 Mom Friends

Having other friends who are also moms is important since you can not only lean on each other during hard times but also have fun together. It's cool to experience the joy of motherhood with other women, and it seems lonely not to have those connections.

According to The Huffington Post, Britney Spears might not have that many mom friends. She has been quoted as saying, "To be honest, I wish I had more mom friends." That does make sense since she tours and performs and she's a famous pop star, but it's tough to hear that. Hey, we would totally be friends with Britney -- I know I would.

9 The Questions Every Mother Thinks About

It sounds like although Britney is super famous and living the pop star life that other moms aren't, she still thinks about things that every mother can relate to.

The Huffington Post quoted Britney: "As a mom, you have all these situations you go through, and you’re like, ‘What is going on? Is this normal? Is this a phase? Or what is this?’ and then you feel silly for asking questions because you think, I’m a mom, I’m supposed to know these things, but you don’t." Who hasn't thought this way... at least five times a day? Exactly. These are total mom thoughts.

8 She Loves Singing And Embarrassing Her Kids

Moms know that you try your best not to embarrass your kids but sometimes you can't help it and it ends up happening. Maybe you say something to them in front of their friends about cleaning their room and they wish that you hadn't or something along those lines.

According to the Huffington Post, Britney is easy to relate to because just like every other mom, she can embarrass her children, particularly by singing when she's driving them places. That is so funny and adorable (but she has such a great singing voice that we bet she still sounds awesome).

7 Artistic Anime

One of Britney's son is really good at anime art and this seems to be a passion and hobby of his. Crunchy Roll quoted Britney as saying, "My son puts so much time and detail into his work... he’s becoming a true little artist and I’m so proud! His stepsister is pretty exceptional as well, like wow!!"

It's not only sweet to hear her kind words about her son's artwork but it's also awesome that she supports this. It's cool when parents let their kids explore hobbies, whether that's something artistic, writing, reading, or sports, and we think that her son is super talented.

6 Photos Of Her Kids Are Rare

When I think about Britney Spears, I think about a very famous singer who also seems to have gotten out of the spotlight a bit in the past decade or so. Dealing with the press and having your photo taken all the time is definitely one reason why I'm glad I'm not famous.

A photo of Britney with her two kids was described by Hello magazine as a "rare picture" so it seems like they aren't in the spotlight as much as some other famous families. This is awesome and makes any photo that we get to see of the pop star mom and her two sons even more special.

5 Having Some (Blue) Fun

According to Buzzfeed, Britney and her son both dyed part of their hair blue, and we can see from this photo that they look amazing.

How many of us can say that our moms would have been cool with us having blue hair... or pink or green hair, for that matter? I thought that it was super great when my mom let me have some blonde highlights for my 13th birthday, but blue hair might have been a bit of a stretch. It looks great on Brit and her son, though, and many of us are probably thinking that they should have kept their locks like this a little bit longer.

4 Her Full-Time Gig Is Being A Mom

These days, Britney Spears has a Vegas residency and that seems to be the main place where she is performing. Even though she's doing this, though, she's still a full-time mom.

The Daily Mail quoted the pop singer as saying, "I think I’ll be able to live a normal life with my kids. I will have some nights where I’ll come back to LA after the show and some when I’ll stay over in Las Vegas."

That sounds like a great plan, and it's inspiring to hear that Britney has figured out a way to both continue her singing career and also be a good mom.

3 Not An Easy Co-Parenting Road

According to People magazine, Britney's ex and the father of her two sons, Kevin Federline, was asking for more money each month for child support.

It sounds like Britney hasn't had a simple time when it comes to her parenting journey, and any mom who has gone through a divorce or co-parenting knows how she feels. Many of us often look at a celebrity like Britney Spears and think that it's all sunshine and rainbows. We assume that they have never struggled, but that's just not the case. Hearing about what Britney has experienced is a reminder that every parent goes through very similar tough times and complicated situations.

2 European Family Vacation

Britney Spears has taken her kids to Europe many times. As all moms know, taking your children on some fun (and educational) family trips so they can see the world and learn about different cultures is a beautiful thing.

While of course not every parent can afford the kinds of trips that a celebrity can, it's still inspiring to see Britney showing her kids the world. It seems like sometimes she has taken her boys with her when she has been in Europe for work, so that's another great lesson: that balancing work and play/family time can definitely be done.

1 Happy Birthday Boys

The Daily Mail says that Britney's kids Sean and Jayden almost share a birthday: Sean's birthday is September 14th and Jayden's is September 12th.

Britney posted a video of them and wrote, "'I'm so grateful for my wonderful boys!!! I couldn't be more proud of them!! Happy birthday, Jayden and Preston!!!! Love you!"

It's so cool that they almost share the same birthday and this is yet another reason that they seem like such an awesome family. I've always been a big fan of Britney and know that learning about her amazing mom skills brings a big smile to my face. How sweet is this family?!
