When it comes to the Kardashian-Jenner family, let’s face it: you either love them or hate them. There really is no in between. Some would say it’s because they are the most authentic reality television family out there. Others would say it’s because they have over-extended their 15 minutes of fame and that it’s time for someone else to step in their shoes. Either way, they are a family that is always making headlines, whether it’s for the good that they do, or the controversial.

While it might seem like Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner and the rest of the family live in complete wealth, luxury and excess, there’s more to them than what we see on television, in the gossip blogs and even on social media. That’s because they are actually more humble than they might appear on the outside. For example, Kim might love the camera (and her daily dose of selfies) but she doesn’t bring the cameras everywhere she goes. There are things that the Kardashians do to give back and help those in need, both in their community and in other parts of the world, too. In other words, they are indeed humble. Here’s why.

20 Motherhood Keeps Them Humble

If there is one thing that keeps the Kardashians well-grounded, it’s their families. Believe it or not, motherhood has kept them very humble.

They understand what’s important in their lives and that everything they do, they do for their children and their futures.

Kim has told Harper’s Bazaar, “When you have kids it keeps you motivated. I want to have something on my own. I feel good when I get up and go to work and am busy all day. That makes me happy. If I just, like, retire, I would definitely be more of a stay at home mom, but I want my kids to have a really strong work ethic and see how motivated mom and dad really are.”

19 They Have Strong Family Ties

Speaking of families, the Kardashians have very strong family ties. They stick together, through the good and the bad. Actress Jennifer Lawrence even had this to say about the family (via People Magazine): “When I found out that I was going to be interviewing her I was like, ‘Oh my God, my whole life has been building up to this moment.’ I wanted to get as much information as I could. I wanted to do my due diligence on Kim Kardashian. I went over to Kris [Jenner]'s house and had dinner with the whole family. They are smart, grounded and normal and funny. They’re very nice people, [they’re] very close, [they have a] loyal bond with one another, which I think is a positive thing to put out into the world. They’ve been absolutely lovely to me.”

18 They Respect Their Roots

Here’s something else that many people don’t know about the Kardashians: they respect their roots. They get their heritage from their father Robert Kardashian’s side and make an effort to never forget where they come from. Vt.com writes, “Despite their fame being most domineering in society in the USA, the girls have never forgotten their roots and even came out in support of their heritage.” They have done their part to learn about Armenia and we're sure they will pass that knowledge on to their children, as well.

17 They've Visited Armenia 

While a lot of celebrities in the spotlight like to celebrate their heritage, the Kardashians actually try to learn as much as possible about theirs. That being said, their interest in their heritage doesn't stop at knowledge. A few members of the family actually paid a trip to Armenia to visit and learn more about their family and the country’s history and had a wonderful time, too. Vt.com says, “In 2015, Kim and Kayne traveled to the capital, Yerevan, where they paid their respects at the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial.” We're sure their father would be so proud.

16 Housekeepers Say Kim Is No Diva

There are very few people that actually know this, but Kim Kardashian is actually not a diva behind the scenes. According to those who work with her, she’s very humble and she also respects her staff and the employees who help make her the household name that she is today.

OK! Mag says, “Believe it or not, Kim Kardashian is not the family diva!"

The house staff told Star magazine that Kim is “extremely humble and down to earth,” “generous,” would frequently “sit and chat” with the staff and once gifted someone a computer! “She was the only one out of the three to give anyone helping out any gifts,” the source said.

15 In Fact, There Are Never Any Reports Of Them Acting Like Divas

Think about it: have you ever heard of Kim and her sisters acting like outlandish divas or difficult celebrities? They might look like it, but they certainly don’t act like it. Kim once told People Magazine, “What’s crazy is you can be having the best day, you can be posting the best pictures of yourself or whatever makes you happy, have one million positive comments and you’ll see one negative comment and it’ll ruin your day. But honestly, it doesn’t really affect me anymore because I try to look at the positive side of things. I might reevaluate it when the time comes that my kids want phones and want to be on social media, but all in all I’ve tried to look at the positive of it.”

14 Their Kids Are Very Important To Them

We’ve said it before, and we will say it again: Kris and her daughters absolutely love their kids. The next generation of Kardashian and Jenner children are growing up in a family that shows them nothing but love and the most attention that they can possibly get.

“In our household, we do not see color,” Khloe wrote on Instagram after she was criticized by her fans for posting photos of her daughter.

“We see emotion and action. We see love. We feed off of energy. Everyone is entitled to their opinion‘s and I’m not complaining about that, please state your opinion but allow me to state mine.”

13 Kris Lets Her Family Members Live With Her

When a celebrity makes their first million, the first thing they do is buy their own real estate. And while that’s something that Kylie Jenner has done on her own, a few of the Kardashian members have actually lived with their mama Kris Jenner for a while, including Kim and her husband Kanye West. You would think that the girls would move out as fast as possible and live on their own, just like many celeb kids do. But for some reason the Kardashians love to stay very close to their mom, Kris. It’s very telling in more ways than one.

There’s no denying that if there’s one person who loves to shower all of her nieces and nephews with love and gifts, it’s Khloe Kardashian. What’s more, it also looks like Khloe likes to keep things very real with the household staff, too. As a matter of fact, they seem to love her the most out of all the sisters. OK Magazine writes that the Housekeepers claim this: “Much like her persona on the reality show, staffers revealed Khloe Kardashian is the most fun because 'she loves to play practical jokes, especially on Kim' like hiding her clothes while Kim would freak out.”

11 Kris Knows Her Entire Staff On A Personal Level

There are also several reports that indicate Kris knows her entire staff on a personal level. She might be one of the most powerful women in the entertainment industry (and the wealthiest, let’s not forget) but when it comes to her household staff and her employees, she likes to treat everyone like they are equals. She doesn’t act like she’s a diva and she certainly doesn’t treat anyone like they are beneath her, no matter who they are.

If there is a crowd of fans waiting to see the Kardashians, you better believe that they will take the time to see them. The Kardashians make sure that they always meet and greet their fans because they know that if it weren’t for them, they wouldn’t be where they are today. This is something their mother has taught them. Kris Jenner once said, “I raised my kids kind of old-fashioned - if you don't have something nice to say, then don't say it at all. I teach love, acceptance, and tolerance... I sometimes think that this generation is lacking in decency.”

Yes, Kanye West makes headlines for a lot of the things that he does and says in public. But, believe it or not, he’s a totally different person behind the scenes and at home, too. In fact, many reports indicate that he’s actually a very polite person to the household staff at home. In other words, he’s not as outlandish as one would think that he is. It’s quite the opposite.

Speaking of Kanye again, if there’s one person that you would want to hang out with from the Kardashian family, it’s him. That’s because he’s down to earth and utterly cool with the staff. According to the Independent, one former assistant had this to say, “I know everyone thinks he’s so deep and serious, but he’s also so funny, like he has me rolling laughing and sometimes I’m like, 'Is this inappropriate that I’m laughing so hard?' But he’s just so hilarious, he has these one-liners and he’s just so unfiltered. He makes me laugh so hard, but he’s also truly the hardest-working man I’ve ever met.”

You would think that the Kardashians and their 15 minutes of fame would have expired by now. But that’s not the case at all. Regardless of many opinions out there, most people would agree that they self-made. They work hard for each million that they make. Kim has told Shape Magazine, “I was never one of those people who were handed everything from their parents. Even when I worked in my dad’s office, I was doing side eBay jobs on my lunch break. I lived a really great life growing up, but we were taught that if we wanted to keep that up, we had to work. At the end of the day, if someone offered me business or fame, I’d take the business side.”

6 The Kardashians Are Very Charitable

Sure, Kim and her sisters make headlines for a lot of the controversial things they do, say, and yes, post on Instagram (we’ve all seen it before, right?). But they are also a very charitable family. They give back in more ways than one. The thing is, they keep this on the down low. Also, the Kardashians aren’t as vain as you would think they are. When it comes to helping out those in need, they are usually the very first ones to reach out with a helping hand and have helped out make victims in the past. A lot of people often criticize the Kardashians for being “too honest.” But at the same time, it's impressive that they are not afraid to speak out about important issues and ones that help their fans, too. For example, Caitlyn Jenner is very open about gender dysphoria and her past struggles. VT.com writes, “Those struggling with gender dysphoria were helped along thanks to the former Olympian becoming a visible role model in society in 2015. Soon after coming out, Caitlyn signed with Creative Artists Agency's Speakers department and collaborated with the CAA Foundation on a philanthropic strategy focusing on LGBT issues.”

3 They Teach Body Positivity

You have to give credit where credit is due. Yes, the Kardashians are also great advocates when it comes to teaching others about body positivity. It doesn’t matter what the numbers on the scale say or what size jeans you may be wearing on a certain day. What matters is that you love yourself and each and every curve on your body. That’s the message they’ve always had and one that they continue to preach on a daily basis. They might look like they are always camera-ready but they make it no secret that it takes a lot of work to also look the way they do, too.

2 They Do Volunteer Work

For the Kardashians, it’s not all about product endorsements, campaigns and cashing in on those million-dollar checks. They also spend a lot of time doing volunteer work, too. What’s more, they also teach their children the importance of working for their local communities, too. VT.com writes, “It's a little-known fact that the mother of North, Saint and Chicago volunteered at Children's Hospital Los Angeles visiting sick kids for years on end. Kim has a long-standing friendship with the hospital and regularly donated money out towards it. And if you think it's all part of a photo op, you'd be wrong. Kim, recognized as an Honorary Armenian Ambassador to the hospital, volunteered for seven years before the press caught wind of her benevolent actions.”

1 They Donate Their Millions

The Kardashians make money, but believe it or not, they also donate a lot of their fortune, too. VT.com writes, “Have a look online and you will see the long list of charities they have supported including the Alzheimer's Association, the American Foundation for AIDS Research, the Baycrest Foundation, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the Diamond Empowerment Fund and the Dream Foundation. In addition, when Kim and Kanye welcomed North West into the world, she asked well-wishers to donate to the Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago to help along the treatment of sick babies and the whole family have a history of donating in times of disaster.”
