Kris Jenner is the 62-year-old matriarch of the Kardashian-Jenner clan; a clan that is well known in the media for their reality show and their multiple business ventures. With news that the youngest Jenner in the group (Kylie) is about to be the youngest self-made billionaire in US history, one has to think of how she got to this point. The same can be said for Kim's multiple business ventures (like Kimoji and KKW Beauty), Khloe's new denim line, Kourtney's dedication to a fulfilling family life, and Kendall's insane work ethic when it comes to the modeling scene. The answer? Kris Jenner.

This is a woman who saw the potential stardom in her family and took them to the next level; a level even she never imagined. Now with six children of her own, nine (current) grandchildren, and a whole lot of money in the bank, Kris Jenner definitely knows a thing or two about parenting (a working parent, at that). Does she even sleep?

Now that most of her kids (minus Kendall) have children of their own, they're looking for advice from their own parents. But not all advice is good advice, right? Here are 15 things the Kardashian-Jenners learned from their mom and six things they're doing on their own.

21 You Have To Work For What You Want

You don't need to be a rocket scientist to realize that Kris Jenner is a go-getter. After managing all of her kids for many years, her dedication to goal-reaching is evident. Even as kids, the Kardashian-Jenners always worked for what they wanted.

"I was saying that earlier to my friends, 'I wonder what [North's] first job is gonna be,'" Kim said to the Evening Standard." And they were like, 'What? She's gonna have a job?' and I was like, 'Are you kidding me? Of course she is'. She will have to work for what she wants."

20 The Kardashian Rule Book

When you live in Kris Jenner's home, you have to play by her rules. Well... at least until you're successful enough to move out. Back when the youngest Jenners still lived with Kris, she noted,

"Kendall and Kylie are still under my thumb and live in my house. There’s no option, if you don’t give your kids an option. You are living in my house with my rules."

Likewise, Kourtney takes the same mindset to her own home. When it comes to playtime at the Kardashian-Disick household, electronics are slim-to-none. “We used to let them use iPads at restaurants, but rules evolve as kids grow and we learned that didn’t always work for us. We want to be able to communicate and have conversations with the kids while eating together – so we try not to have TV or iPads out during breakfast, lunch or dinner."

19 Three's A Party

Kris Jenner has said it multiple times, she loves her kids and, at times, wishes she had more (but that's what grandchildren are for, right?!) Back when Kim was nervous about expanding her family by having a third baby, her mom assured her of her decision.

"My mom said three is easy. She said two's hard, three's easy… Kourtney makes three look really easy. I'm hearing conflicting stories."

Well, it seems like she listened to her dear old mom and older sister because Kim and husband Kanye now have North, Saint, and Chicago.

18 Peak And Pit

I am not embarrassed to say that I've been watching the Kardashians since they came on TV in 2007. I was a senior in high school and loved the E! Network, could you blame me? I know many people are in the same boat as I am, so they're familiar with the family's "peak and pit" of the day tradition.

After a long day, the family gets around the dinner table (if they're in the same place, that is) and give the peak (the best part) and the pit (the worst part) of their day. This is something we continue to see in current seasons of Keeping up with the Kardashians, which means they're sticking to tradition.

17 Unconditional Love

The Kardashian-Jenner history is a long—and at times, confusing—one. Kris had her first four children with ex-husband Robert Kardashian, and then two kids with former olympian Bruce Jenner (now known as Caitlyn). Yet somehow, through breakups, deaths, and half-siblings — this family is more unified than most. Though the girls (and Rob) have learned to have unconditional love for others through their mom, it was actually more learned through their late father, Robert.

When asking what advice Khloe would take into motherhood, she said "But, the one thing I would take from how my dad was with us is unconditional love. It's the entire point of family."

16 To Work Hard

Although the Kardashian-Jenner girls are talented in their own ways, Kris Jenner is definitely the beautiful mind behind most of their business deals. She manages her six children, runs Jenner Communications, and is the executive producer to all of her kids' shows. If there's one thing she's unknowingly teaching her kids, it's to work hard.

"I tried to instill in the kids that it was really important to have a good work ethic and to be responsible, reliable, and independent adults," Kris said.

"I taught them that if they wanted extras, they needed to go to work for themselves and made them realize the value of things and how you had to work hard to get what you wanted."

15 Keeping Their Kids Grounded

I know I'm going to get a lot of eye roles with this blurb considering the Kardashian-Jenners seem anything but grounded, but Kris Jenner has made it her mission to keep everyone as down-to-earth as possible. "My biggest blessing is my children and my family–keeping everyone really well grounded and down to earth, ensuring they have their integrity and values in check," Kris stated.

Following suit, Kim makes sure her three kids are grounded by giving North a chore chart and not giving too much to her other two kids.

"I worry about giving my kids too much. We don't do gifts. They have to really earn it. But we talk about it all the time, about not getting too much and just trying to be as grounded and well-rounded as possible," Kim told Wealthsimple.

14 A Newborn Tradition

Fans of the Kardashian-Jenner clan were surprised when they heard Kylie Jenner (the youngest of the brood) was pregnant with her boyfriend's baby after only dating for a few months. However, now that baby Stormi is here, she has proven to be a very doting mother. One tradition that has followed from Kris' parents, is giving their child their own newborn outfits when they have their own baby. "I gave all of her baby stuff to her when she got pregnant with Stormi and Stormi wore it home from the hospital," Kris said.

The outfit that baby Stormi wore? A "three-piece printed set included a nightgown, blanket, and bonnet," from 1997.

13 Keep Your Friends Close

Through the ups and downs of their crazy life, Kris Jenner seems to always have this unwavering amount of support around her from long-time girlfriends.

"They are some of the most important relationships I have ever had in my life. When you raise a family it's amazing to have a support system of other women," Kris Jenner told Marie Claire.

Believing in their mother's own words, the Kardashian-Jenners have proven to be very loyal to their long-term companions. Khloe has been besties with Malika since they were 15 years old. Kim has had LaLa Anthony in her famous circle of friends for years. And Kourtney has been close with Larsa Pippen since before kids.

12 Be A Business Mogul

Kris Jenner has always seen the bigger picture. She wasn't just going to have her kids star on a reality TV show, she was going to have creative control in how the world saw her family. Besides being executive producer of the show (along with her girls), she also takes care of the girls' images by having guests sign an disclosure agreement before they even step foot in the house. If they're going to have their own apps, games, makeup lines, modeling contracts, and books, Jenner is going to make sure her family is in control.

Now that the girls are all individuals with their own mindset, they're following Kris' advice and taking care of their own money and business ventures.

11 God First

You don't need to watch the show to know that the family has a close relationship to God. Considering everything Khloe has been through recently, she posts Bible versus and quotes about God daily; something she definitely got from her momma.

"It's important to surround yourself with the right people," Kris Jenner said. "We also have a strong Christian foundation—I pray about things during bad times and am reminded that we are so much stronger than we think we are. The older I get I understand that everything is going to be ok in the end."

10 Control Isn't Always A Bad Thing

I never really saw Kris as controlling, but with six kids and multiple grandchildren (and businesses), it's easy to see where those tendencies come from. It's no wonder her kids have followed suit in their own way. Kris once said to Elle, "I guess if I get a little weird about something that isn’t the way I want it, and I complain, then it’s called controlling… I like everything a certain way." I can't say I blame Kris. And if anyone has stayed up to date on Khloe's app, they'd notice that she's the same way with her kitchen space (please note the organization above), Kim controls what her kids wear, and Kourtney is obsessive over what her kids eat.

Without even knowing it, they slowly turned into their mom!

9 Take Care Of Your Skin

The Kardashian-Jenners are drop dead gorgeous. Some say it's because of the money they have to be able to afford such amazing updates, while some claim they have a hoard of people taking care of them each day to make them look that way. However, perhaps the secret to their glow is simpler than we thought. Bustle mentioned this one tip Kim took from her mom and it's advice we could all use. "She [Kris Jenner] used to always tell me to wash my face with a really hot washcloth and then use it to exfoliate your skin.... that always stuck with me."

8 Don't Let Anyone Treat You Poorly

Kris Jenner has sure seen her fair share of ups and downs with relationships. Not only with herself, but through her children. And while Kris has been divorced twice, she has more wisdom on dating than most. "Don't try too hard. ... If you're not your true self and putting on a lot of airs, then I think what's going to happen is when you finally come up for air, it's going to be really uncomfortable trying to keep up with that," Kris said on dating.

"So I think just be yourself. If someone falls in love with you for who you are, how great is that?"

This advice obviously stuck because anytime the girls have been in a bad relationship, they get out of it and find something that uplifts them instead.

7 Family Traditions

"Even though we all work together, we look forward to playing together. When we do, we are always silly so makes it more fun," says matriarch Kris. It's easy to see all of the Kardashian-Jenner traditions on their show, but it's sweet to know that the girls are using those traditions for their new families.

Instead of doing individual Christmas cards with their own growing families, they still opt for the massive family greeting. According to People, Khloe wrote "As you get older, I think you create your own traditions and they stem from what your parents instilled in you. The biggest holiday tradition I’m going to take from my mom is how she makes everything look perfect and feel incredibly special.”

6 Ditching: Having Kids Young (Minus Kylie)

Let's talk about the things the Kardashian-Jenner girls are ditching now that they're all out of mom's home.

While every generation is different, Kris Jenner was just 22 when she had her first child. "I had my kids really young. I was 22 years old when I got — it’s overwhelming when you’re that young, so things go by so fast and moments slip by,"

Bustle reported. Unlike their mom, Kourtney gave birth to her firstborn, Mason, at age 30, Kim had North at age 33, Khloe had True at 34 years old, and even brother Rob had his daughter Dream at 29.

So, while giving birth young was very much a thing back in the '80s, times have changed, Kris.

5 Ditching: Marriage Before Babies

I think deep down, Kris really likes the traditional family. But it's kind of hard to be traditional when you have so many kids in the public eye with their own private agendas.

Back when Kris was younger, she got married to Robert Kardashian and then had her four kids. Later, after they divorced, she married Bruce Jenner and had two girls with him. But these days? Her kids are opting out on the whole marriage thing (for now, that is).

Kourtney had her three kids with long-time boyfriend Scott Disick. While he spoke about marriage a few times on the show, it never happened and the two are no longer together.

Khloe had baby True with boyfriend Tristan Thompson, after about a year of dating, and while these two have their ups and downs of love — they're nowhere near an engagement. Even Kim got pregnant with North before she and Kanye tied the knot (but don't worry, North made an appearance). Lastly, Kylie and boyfriend Travis had Stormi after a few months of dating, as did Rob and ex-girlfriend Chyna.

Is marriage a thing of the past?

4 Ditching: The Letter 'K' Tradition

I don't know what Kris' fascination is with the letter 'K', but everyone was wondering if Kourtney would follow tradition and name her firstborn with a 'K' (since she was the first to have a baby). Sadly for Kris, she did not. And neither did Kim, Khloe, Rob, or Kylie! We have Mason, Penelope, Reign, North, Saint, Chicago, Dream, Stormi, and True. Not one 'K' in sight!

It's almost like the family is actively staying away from 'K' names if you ask me. However, since Kendall is yet to have a baby, maybe she'll be the first to follow suit?

3 Ditching: Self Deprecation

Focusing on how their personal appearances look is a big topic on Keeping up with the Kardashians. Since they're constantly being judged and scrutinized, looking bad is something that can deeply affect them mentally.

As seen in multiple episodes, each child has seemed to have their own issue with their appearance. Kris Jenner has spoken about finding the right clothing for changing frame, Kylie was never fond of her lips, Khloe always felt different from her sisters... But in a recent episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians, Kris asked Kourtney if she thought her body looked different than normally. Instead of answering, Kourtney quickly told her mom not to self depreciate in front of her children.

It looks like self-deprecation is out the window for Kourtney!

2 Ditching: The Public/Private School Setting

Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe all went through the same education system in public/private high schools, but it's a tad different now that they have kids of their own.

With parents who are constantly traveling and busy with business ventures, traditional schooling may be hard with all the kids.

When Kourtney only had Mason, it was reported that she had him homeschooled to accommodate her hectic schedule, but Kim might be changing things. Christian Post writes, "North is the first of the Kardashian grandchildren to go to a regular school. Kourtney Kardashian's children, Mason and Penelope, are both homeschooled."
