I think it's fair to say that makeup mogul Kylie Jenner surprised all of us when, at only 20-years-old, she became a pretty decent mom. After nine months of keeping her pregnancy under wraps, Kylie popped out a baby girl and announced it to the world via a super sentimental mini-documentary chronicling her pregnancy and birth. I've got to give the girl credit, she definitely "owned" her pregnancy and delivered the news on her own terms. Her secrecy was addressed in an Instagram post, and the thought and maturity that went into her every word was widely applauded.

"I'm sorry for keeping you in the dark through all the assumptions," she wrote in the post. "My pregnancy was one I chose not to do in front of the world. I knew for myself I needed to prepare for this role of a lifetime in the most positive, stress-free, and healthy way I knew how. There was no gotcha moment, no big paid reveal I had planned. I knew my baby would feel every stress and every emotion so I chose to do it this way for my little life and our happiness."

Super sweet, right? Ever since Stormi's arrival, fans have been clamoring to see how selfie-driven Kylie is faring as a young mother, but over the past few months, she's managed to impress even her toughest critics.

Here are 15 surprising things about Kylie's parenting, and 8 hacks the Kardashians have learned from her.

23 Keeping Stormi Out Of The Spotlight

Despite being part of the Kardashian Klan, Kylie Jenner did a pretty impressive job of keeping her pregnancy private and continues to keep her daughter out of the spotlight even after the birth.

Kylie has kept the "baby pictures" to a minimum, even going as far as to delete every single image that showed Stormi's face from her Instagram account back in June.

Why? An insider told People that Internet trolls were to blame.

"After Stormi was born, Kylie was the proudest mum. She couldn’t wait to show off Stormi to her fans. She posted pictures, because she was so excited to be a mum. Unfortunately, social media is a crazy place. People have been making comments."

22 Travis Scott Takes A Back Seat

Travis Scott has definitely taken a backseat when it comes to parenting Stormi, but bear in mind that the two had only been dating for a few months before she got pregnant.

They are still together, and continue to co-parent, but it's pretty clear that Kylie is the main caregiver in this scenario.

Stormi lives with Kylie in her Hidden Hills mansion and Kylie (along with friends, family and the occasional nanny) seem to help her more than Travis does. Saying that, the pair likes to keep their relationship super private, so maybe he's doing more than we realize? Who knows.

21 She Keeps A Strict Guest List

According to an article in The Daily Mail, Kylie has a pretty strict policy when it comes to who gets to see baby Stormi. The list of people who are allowed to swing by anytime include her best friend, Jordyn Woods, as well as her sisters, Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, and Kendall. Seems reasonable to me! Not many new moms want random people dropping in unannounced, no matter how famous they are. I'm assuming Kris Jenner is allowed over as well?!

"She is devoted to keeping her little girl safe and happy in her private space," said the source. "You have to go to her house to visit. She’s being very careful about keeping the baby healthy and indoors."

20 She Might Not Be Breastfeeding

Although we can't say for sure, it doesn't look like Kylie has chosen to breastfeed based on the pictures we've seen.

Unlike her sisters, who have been very vocal breastfeeding advocates, Kylie hasn't openly discussed her parenting choices (and honestly, that's probably for the best).

Despite the fact that she's never come out and said that she breastfeeds, the internet is chock-full of judgmental types who immediately assumed (upon seeing a photo of her drinking on Instagram) that she was drinking while breastfeeding and publicly took Kylie to task for it. The amount of presumption going on is unreal!

19 She Has A Non-Disclosure Agreement

According to PEOPLE, Kylie decided to keep her pregnancy journey private because she “didn’t want the public scrutiny — and didn’t think it would be healthy for her or the baby.”

The solution? OK! magazine says she requires visitors to sign a whopping $10 million confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement, and mobile phones, cameras and any recording devices are banned for those who sign the forms. Those who don't sign the agreement? They simply can't see her. Given their level of fame and the amount of crazy people in the world, I can't say I blame her.

18 Everything Must Be Sanitized

According to UsWeekly, Kylie is a total germaphobe when it comes to her baby, requiring visitors wash their hands all the time and insisting that everyone wear a medical mask before coming near her. The baby’s room is stocked with both eco-friendly and chemical-free products, according to TMZ.

“Kylie makes all the guests wear them. It’s a bit over the top, but she’s extremely cautious when it comes to keeping Stormi safe, she wants to protect her baby girl as much as she can. Travis is the same, they’re both super protective," a source close to Kylie told HollywoodLife.com.

17 Stormi-Inspired Style

Most new moms commemorate the birth of their child with a journal or a scrapbook entry, but Kylie Jenner took it a step further and got a Stormi-inspired manicure, complete with a silver monogrammed "S" on her pinky.

Given that Kylie is a beauty mogul, it's no surprise that little Stormi inspires her fashion/beauty choices.

Weeks after Stormi Webster was born, Kylie went on to theme an entire makeup collection after her, dedicating the palette name, the colors, and the packaging to her daughter. Kylie also enjoys color-coordinating with her daughter on Instagram (but not matching, that would be tacky).

16 Kylie Loves Changing Diapers

Despite being labeled as immature and selfish, Kylie seems to be a natural when it comes to this whole "mothering" thing. She isn't just taking to it, she's actually enjoying every moment of it (even the stinky ones). Kim Kardashian conducted an interview with her younger sister for the Evening Standard, and Kylie surprised everyone by talking about how much she enjoyed changing diapers.

“But I feel like it’s only gotten better. You’re less selfish — and I actually enjoy changing diapers. It’s really satisfying. To make her clean again. And I don’t know, the whole thing is really… it’s like such an amazing experience.”

15 She Requires Tight Security

Kylie takes security SERIOUSLY ever since the birth of baby Stormi. OK! magazine reports that after signing the non-disclosure agreement, visitors must go through a checkpoint (which includes a metal detector and a pat down).

"She just really wants to make sure that there are no secret cameras being smuggled in," said a source.

The security is so tight that even Kylie herself could barely get through! She told her fans on Snapchat that one of her guards failed to recognize her and wouldn't let her through the gates, blaming it on her new hair-do.

14 Only Kylie Can Post Pictures

Anyone who follows Kylie on social media will notice that not many people are photographed with Stormi. Besides Kylie, the only people who have been photographed holding her are Travis, her grandmother, Kendall, and her best friend, Jordyn Woods. It's important to note that all of these pictures were posted by Kylie herself, and absolutely NO pictures of Stormi have been posted by anyone else on social media (not even Mama Kris, although I'm sure she'd love to). It's pretty obvious that Kylie also has photo sharing on lockdown, as no one in her family has even reposted Kylie's photos of Stormi.

13 No Group Photos Allowed

The Kardashians love to take group photos of their entire brood, particularly for their annual Christmas cards, but you won't be seeing baby Stormi in any of them. Kylie even refused to show off her baby bump in last year's Christmas card, so I'd be surprised if Stormi appears in this year's version. After Kylie introduced Stormi to Caitlyn Jenner and her side of the family, everyone assumed that there'd be a picture with all of her half-siblings and their children, but Kylie never posted anything. Whomp, whomp.

12 Her Best Friend Plays A Huge Role

Kylie has a pretty big support system in the form of her family, but her best friend, Jordyn Woods, seems closer to her (and Stormi) than anyone else.

Just after Stormi was born, when Kylie was being particularly selective about who she let around her, she posted a video on Snapchat of Jordyn holding her daughter with a caption asking, "can they get any cuter?"

Jordyn proved her loyalty by keeping Kylie's pregnancy a secret until after Stormi was born, despite the fact that she could have made some big bucks by talking about it. Kylie told fans on Twitter that Jordyn's response to her pregnancy was, "Okay, well I guess we're both having a baby."

Sounds like Jordyn is already a HUGE part of Stormi's life!

11 Strategic Use Of Social Media

If Kylie decides to get a degree in anything, it should be public relations. Not only does Kylie know her target audience, she also knows how to ignore the haters and how much (and how often) to post. The best thing about Kylie's use of social media is that the fans of her KylieCosmetics brand are all real fans who are all clamoring for a glimpse of Stormi at home.

Do you think Kylie uses this to her advantage? Hell yes she does, and she gets more sales because of it.

Her fans are literally glued to every Snapchat story or Instagram post, and she'll tease them with pictures of Stormi while at the same time posting content about her new collections. Smart move, Kylie.

10 She Prefers Family Over Nannies, But Uses Them When Necessary

Before Stormi was born Kylie was pretty adamant about not using nannies, insisting that she would raise her child on her own and with the help of close family members. Unfortunately, when you're a (famous) working mom with working (famous) relatives, it got a little harder than she anticipated.

"She went three nights in a row without really sleeping. After that she broke down and hired night nurses," a source told HollywoodLife.

Despite the fact that she's hired nannies, it's pretty clear that Kylie prefers family over hired help. I can't say I blame her- family members do tend to be more trustworthy, particularly when you're a high-profile celeb.

9 New Mansion = Working Close By

Working moms often need an office in the home so they can focus on work while staying close to their kids, but I guess an office isn't enough for the Kardashian/Jenner clan! Believe it or not, Kylie recently purchased an additional mansion in Hidden Hills, directly next door from her current multi-million dollar mansion, just so that she could work on her business while staying close to her daughter. Um...okay? I guess her  6-bedroom, 7-bathroom home didn't cut it.

And these are the hacks the rest of the Kardashian Klan has learned from Kylie...

8 Kylie Hack: Know Your Baby Gadgets

In an interview with E! News, Kim Kardashian was asked about which sister she goes to for baby advice. Despite already being a mother to three kids, Kim shocked everyone by admitting that lately she'd been asking her 20-year-old sister (and first time mom) for help and guidance.

"Lately, it's been Kylie. Kylie is up on all the new gadgets and the new baby stuff."

Lord knows Kylie's a trendy, young mom, so the older Kardashian sisters can probably learn some things from her, despite her age.

7 Kylie Hack: Take Control Of The Narrative

Kylie is the QUEEN when it comes to controlling what the public knows and what they don't know, so her sisters should probably take a page out of her book. After 9 months of hiding her pregnancy from the public eye, Kylie released a mini-documentary chronicling the pregnancy and the birth on her own terms.

"I'm sorry for keeping you in the dark through all the assumptions," she told her fans on Instagram. "I understand you're used to me bringing you along on all my journeys. My pregnancy was one I chose not to do in front of the world. I knew for myself I needed to prepare for this role of a lifetime in the most positive, stress free, and healthy way I knew how."

6 Kylie Hack: Ignore The Mom Shamers

Unlike her sisters, who are forever clapping back at their haters, Kylie avoids extra controversy and drama by simply ignoring them. Kylie's been getting mom-shamed ever since she posted the first picture of Stormi on Instagram, when fans disapproved of her extra-long nails.

“Don’t wanna be a B, but the length of Kylie Jenner’s nails tells me all I need to know about her parenting/lack thereof," said one Twitter user.

Pretty soon haters were taking her to task for going out and drinking alcohol as well, but so far Kylie has avoided the storm by not giving them the time of day.

5 Kylie Hack: A Little Privacy Won't Hurt Your Brand

Everyone knows the Kardashian Klan had made their fortune off of being high-profile, but Kylie's success is proof that a little bit of privacy doesn't actually hurt your brand. Hear that, Kardashian sisters? There is a little thing called over-exposure, and it's real.

Despite the fact that she values her privacy, Forbes Magazine recently featured Kylie on their list of  "60 richest self-made women" and projected that she will soon be the youngest self-made billionaire in America. Kylie's business has expanded to the point where she is currently worth an estimated $900,000 million. In comparison, her sister, Kim, is worth an estimated $350,000 million.

4 Kylie Hack: Be A Little More Hands-On

Kylie has never been the same as her sisters, whom she has always said were "made for" fame.

Unlike the rest of the Kardashian/Jenner crew, Kylie has only ever wanted to be a mom.

In Kylie's pregnancy video, a baby shower attendee is recorded as saying, "She's always said how much she wanted to be a mom. She was born to be a mom."

Kim Kardashian, in particular, has often come under fire for caring more about her brand or her "image" than she does her own children, but Kylie avoids this kind of scrutiny by embracing motherhood and being more hands-on than any of her older sisters.
