Most fans of Keeping Up with the Kardashians are aware that the Kardashian sisters disagree on some things from time to time, particularly when it comes to parenting styles. Unlike her sisters, Kourtney told Redbook magazine that she's a proponent of Attachment Parenting. "It's what came naturally to me; I didn't plan it," she told Redbook.

"When I had Mason, I just felt really attached to him and wanted to bring him everywhere. He ended up sleeping with me, and I breastfed for 14 months. I'm sure all the family thinks I'm [a little out there] for having them in the bed and breastfeeding for a long time, but whatever."

So, do her sisters actually think she's on the kookier side? Maybe a little. Kim Kardashian has been very open about how she is much stricter than Kourtney, saying, "I'm really strict on nap time, and sleeping in her own crib. Like Kourtney’s style is where her kids sleep in bed with her, so especially with the third baby coming – they’re going to need a bigger bed or they’re going to need some other rules."

Sooo...it seems like Kim isn't a big proponent of attachment parenting, and it doesn't sound like Khloe is, either. Before the birth of baby True, Khloe wrote on her website, "The sister I think my parenting style will be most similar to is: Kimberly."

Well, there you have it. Here are 15 parenting choices that Kourtney has made that all of her sisters disagree with (and 5 they can get behind).

Let's start with the choices the other Kardashian sisters don't agree with...

20 Co-sleeping

Unlike her younger sister, Kim, Kourtney has never been strict about her children sleeping in their own bed or in their own crib.

“When I had Mason, co-sleeping just kind of happened naturally. It’s what worked for all of us to get the most sleep, so I quickly embraced it,” Kardashian said about her oldest, 8-year-old Mason.

With co-sleeping, I didn’t have to get up out of bed to get the kids back to sleep whenever they woke during the night,” she explained. It was easier when one of the kids woke up, since I was right there. Co-sleeping just ended up feeling like we all got more sleep.”

Hey, whatever works for her family!

19 Laid-Back Parenting Style

As you can probably tell based on this picture, Kourtney is pretty laid back. Seriously, a strict parent would NEVER let their kids sit on the hood of a $122K Mercedes G-Wagon!

Kourtney definitely doesn't sweat the small stuff. When Kris was worried that Mason's nursery wasn't set up right before the birth, Kourtney didn't see what the big deal was.

"I was like, 'People used to have babies in caves; it’s going to be okay,'" she said.

Her sisters, however, have a different approach. "I don't know my parenting style until I have a baby, but from what I envision my parenting style to be, I do think it'll be more like Kim. A little more strict," said Khloe Kardashian in an interview.

18 Hand-Me-Downs

Unlike Kim, who loves dressing up her children in designer duds, Kourtney has spoken openly about altering her son's clothes for Penelope so she could wear them.

Hand-me-downs on a Kardashian?! Apparently so!

"I am always trying to evolve, so I like to read parenting books and things like that. I even kept some of Mason's clothes, like little blazers, and I use them on Penelope. Even a full-suit menswear moment and do a St. Laurent look for Penelope. It's different dressing them both, but I love when Penelope wears Mason's pajamas, those pieces that are so special that are so nice to share," Kourtney told E! News.

17 No Microwaves Allowed

"Microwaves," Kourtney answered, matter-of-factly, opting to use a toaster oven instead.

So what is Kourtney's beef with the always-convenient microwave?

"When I had Mason, I did a lot of health-related research, and decided to get rid of my microwave when I read that toxins from plastic containers can be transferred to food when reheated. I've heard microwaves can leach nutrients from food and use radiation to heat food. I'm not sure how accurate this is but when it comes to my family I play it safe."

PSA: According to Harvard Medical School, Kourtney's fears are totally unfounded.

16 Allowing The Kids To Dress Themselves

When it comes to what their kids wear, Kourtney and Kim have very different opinions.

“Every morning and every night is her time to shine," Kim said about her daughter's style. "She can wear costumes, which she really loves. She wears wild pajamas. And then when we go out, she really just wears whatever I want. She makes it really easy. But we have that compromise.”

Kourtney, on the other hand, has a wildly different approach.

“My son definitely has an opinion on what to wear. He gets himself dressed every day and likes to come out and show us his outfit, and we’re not allowed to have a say in any of it.”

15 "If I’m Not Working, Neither Is The Nanny"

Although Kourtney is a busy businesswoman with work engagements and events to attend, she's been quite outspoken about the fact that she'd rather be with her kids.

"I don’t want to judge, but I’ve also met women who think it’s cool to be out or away from their baby, and I don’t get that, either... I do have help when I’m working. It’s important to have one person I trust, so I know Mason is taken care of. But every time I am not working, he is with me. Even on an airplane, he is with me even if the nanny is also on the plane. Any time I can have with him, I am lucky to have."

Hmm...wonder if she's referring to Kim?

14 No Plastic Toys

When speaking about her sisters' parenting advice on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Khloe had a lot to say about Kourtney's opinion on plastic.

"A lot of [advice] is unwanted. I don’t know if it’s the worst, but Kourtney gives a lot of advice. I think it’s so sweet but I don’t want to do some of that stuff! You can never have a plastic toy, ever! If someone buys blocks, I’m allowed to have blocks! Let me experience things. It’s either her way or no way."

Kourtney explained her reasoning on her mommy blog, claiming that wood toys have fewer toxins, and are also long-lasting, better for the environment, as well as more durable than their plastic counterparts.

13 Natural Remedies

Kourtney has always been a health guru, often treating her children with natural remedies in lieu of medicine, including Manuka honey. Sounds GOOP-inspired to me! On her app, Kourtney writes,

“It keeps us from getting sick! I give this honey to Mason and Penelope all the time (Reign is too young). Whenever anyone in our family doesn’t feel well, they get two giant spoonfuls ASAP.”

After giving birth to her third baby in December, Kourtney also posted a photo on Instagram of two pill capsules, along with the caption: "Yummy... PLACENTA pills! No joke...I will be sad when my placenta pills run out. They are life changing! #benefits #lookitup."

12 Homemade Baby Food Only

In an interview with Parenting Magazine, Kourtney discussed her penchant for making homemade baby food.

"My mom bought me this amazing baby-food maker, the Beaba. I steam and puree fruits and vegetables, and they last for like four days. Mason pretty much loves everything. I gave him red beets, and it got all over his face, which made the funniest picture. He also loves sweet potatoes, carrots, and yams. Sometimes I mix pureed peaches, pears, bananas, or apples with plain yogurt or an all-natural organic jelly.

I have this great book called Super Baby Food that’s full of ideas. I should be on this Mason diet!"

11 Stays Close To Home

Unlike her sister, Kim, who is always going to events and dinners without her kids, Kourtney has trouble cutting the umbilical cord (so to speak).

"Unless I’m working, I can’t be away from them without feeling guilty. It doesn’t feel good or natural to be, so it’s [challenging]. My friends keep saying, 'You and [boyfriend Scott Disick] should go out and eat or do something.' Recently my sister Kim watched Mason so we could go to dinner. It took so long—actually, it probably didn’t take so long, but to us it felt like it took long—we were like, should we just get pizza and go home?"

10 No Schedules

Unlike her sister, Kim, Kourtney's kids don't have set bedtimes or nap times.

"We don't really follow a set schedule," Kourtney said in an interview with Parenting Magazine. "I was struggling with that for a while, wondering what is the best thing. I think you do whatever fits your lifestyle. Some people have things planned from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., which works for them.

But honestly, the best thing for Mason is just to be with me.

When we are out, we just have so much fun. If we are cruising around, and he is napping in the car, it’s not the worst thing in the world."

9 Keeping Her Kids Out Of The Limelight

Anyone who follows KUWTK is aware that Kim and Kourtney have starkly different parenting styles.

“They have opposite parenting styles. Kourtney is very hands-on and all about doing kid things with her kids, not adult things,” a family friend told In Touch. “She thinks Kim parading North around is terrible. Kourtney would never bring her kid into a paparazzi storm like Paris Fashion Week or sit front row at a fashion show with her kids.”

But what about the attention on the show? According to sources, Kourtney allegedly doesn’t want to appear on Keeping Up With the Kardashians any longer and has reportedly told her mother/manager, Kris Jenner she doesn’t intend to sign another contract. Hmmm...we'll see about that.

8 Bedtime Rituals

Unlike Kim, who often relies on nannies to put her kids to bed, Kourtney is all about bedtime rituals with her kids and would never miss one if she could help it.

Kourtney even posted a video on Instagram featuring both her and her kids singing lullabies to go to sleep. It is even said that she prays with her children before putting them to bed, much like her father did with her when she was a child.

Her kids aren't the only ones benefitting from rituals, however. Kourtney also revealed that she meditates in her bathroom every morning for about 20 minutes or so.

"Having a calm start to the day is really grounding and something I do whenever I can make time."

7 Dairy And Gluten Free Diet

When it comes to what she and her children eat, Kourtney has some pretty strict dietary requirements.

“I have noticed a great positive change in behavior with my children when we stick to a gluten-free and dairy-free diet," she wrote on her blog.

"I don't think everyone needs to eat this way but we had muscle testing done, which showed we all have sensitivities to corn, gluten and dairy. Of course, we pick our battles and I do let the kids have popcorn at the movies and a churro at Disneyland, etc. But for birthday parties, which can sometimes be every weekend, I bring extra gluten- and dairy-free cupcakes for the kids and they are happy with that."

6 Buys Kid-Friendly Furniture

Unlike her sister, Kim, who has specific rooms in her house that the kids are not allowed to go in, Kourtney is all about kid-proofing everything.

“Having three kids in a house with nice furniture is tough in terms of keeping things clean, sure, but I really feel like nothing is ever a big enough deal to get upset over,” Kourtney said. "I’m good about not caring, but also I understand that no one wants their home to look like a hot mess. When I was choosing pieces for the house, I made sure everything was kid-friendly, and I think that’s a good place to start."

And here are some things her sisters can get behind...

5 Limited Screen Time

Kim has openly said that she already has screen time limits in place and refuses to use her phone at home, and it sounds like Kourtney might have taken a page out of Kim's book when it comes to being strict about technology.

"We want to be able to communicate and have conversations with the kids while eating together—so we try not to have TV or iPads out during breakfast, lunch or dinner," she said.

On a post on her website, Kourtney revealed that she limits her kids to 30 minutes of television and video game time on weekdays, and restricts all forms of technology during meals.

4 Naturally Feeding Is Worth A Try

Her sisters may not have lasted as long as Kourtney (who breastfed Mason until he was 14 months), but both Kim and Khloe have openly spoken about breastfeeding their kids. Although Khloe recently had to start supplementing with formula because of milk supply issues, she breastfed as long as she could. Kylie has yet to confirm that she's breastfeeding, but I would be surprised if she's not following in her older sisters' footsteps.

"I love the bonding time, love that it’s natural and what your body is made to do, love the benefits for his body and mine," Kourtney wrote in a blog post for People. "I find it to be such an amazing womanly thing."

3 Taking Them On Trips

Last June, Kourtney and boyfriend, Younes Bendjima, took both of her kids with them on a getaway to Positano, Italy. It's not too surprising for Kourtney, who likes to bring her kids with her everywhere, but according to numerous reports, all of the Kardashian sisters like to bring their kids with them on amazing vacations.

Just last month, Khloe, Kim, and Kourtney (along with her ex, Scott Disick) all recently traveled to Bali with their little ones in tow. All three sisters (plus Scott) documented their Bali adventures on Instagram, and it's more than a little luxurious. From amazing sunsets, sailing, temple-hopping, and enjoying the #yachtlife in miniature bikinis, the Kardashian kids (both big and small) are living large.

2 Big Birthday Bashes

In 2018, Kourtney's daughter, Penelope, enjoyed a double birthday party with her cousin, North West, as their birthdays are fairly close together (Penelope was born in July and North was born in June). In true Kardashian fashion, this party was EPIC. The unicorn-themed party had real horses (adorned with horns and candy-colored manes), rainbow robes, and rainbow pool floats.

Big birthday bashes are nothing new for the Kardashians, however. Last year Penelope and North enjoyed a Moana themed party, featuring Moana costumes, a bounce house, a swimming pool and a petting zoo (with both girls receiving matching Pomeranian puppies). I'm sure Khloe and Kylie will want to follow suit, so be on the lookout for some first birthday parties that will cost more than your wedding!

1 Tight Security

The Kardashian sisters have always had a certain amount of protection, but after Kim's Paris incident, all of them have beefed up their security teams. Kim, for example, has hired security guards to watch her family 24/7 and reportedly spent around $1.5 M to keep her family safe during her surrogate's pregnancy.

Both Khloe and Kourtney have been hit with home robberies in the past, with Khloe losing $250,000 worth of jewelry and Kourtney losing $50,000 in cash. To make matters worse, both sisters believe the crimes were inside jobs.

As a result, Khloe reportedly ordered lie detector tests for everyone who had access to her home and both sisters have fired and rehired new security guards.
