The average age women have their first baby is around 26 years old, and that’s according to the most recent study by the CDC in 2014. Many studies have shown that in the United States, women are waiting longer and longer to start families.

Some people plan their whole lives out; graduate college, get a job, get married and then have kids. And some people have a baby before college, get married while their getting a degree and then keeping having more babies. Some people have babies fresh out of high school and choose to work directly out of high school. Everyone goes about parenthood, and life in general, in different ways. And that’s likely due to the fact that everyone is very, very different. As many parents with one or more kids will suggest, there’s never a perfect time to have a baby!

Business Insider suggests the following on why some mother’s choose to wait to have babies. “Even if it were easier to combine a career and having kids, there are personal reasons a woman might decide to wait to start a family, Elizabeth Gregory writes in "Ready: Why Women are Embracing the New Later Motherhood." Women may want to accomplish specific goals, to have certain experiences, to be in a relationship with the right partner, to be financially and emotionally stable, or any combination of these factors.”

On the contrary, Care.com lists 10 benefits of becoming a mother at a young age including; it’s easier to relate to your children, you will have more time with your kids, you have time to plan your future with you children in mind, you’ll have an empty nest earlier and more.

Whether or not a person chooses to start a family at a young age or wait until later in life, there’s really no right or wrong. Vodianova was 18 years old when she gave birth to her first son, Lucas Alexander. At the time, Vodianova was married to Justin Portman, a British Aristocrat. They went on to have two other children; daughter Neva born in 2006 and son Viktor born in 2007. Vodianova and Portman separated in 2011. Vodianova has since moved onto have two additional children with new beau, Antoine Arnault. Their son Maxim was born in 2014 and son Roman in 2016.

In an interview with WMagazine.com Vodianova describes her current life with husband and 5 kids in their Paris apartment, “It’s a wonderful mess.”

The couple split and she famously was married to Howard J. Smith, a businessman and noteable billionaire. Howard J Smith passed away in 1995, after just over a year of marriage to Anna Nicole. Smith went on to give birth to a daughter, Dannielynn Birkhead in September of 2006.

Most commonly known for her work with Playboy, Smith lived a life constantly in the headlines. Unfortunately, Smith’s son passed away in 2006, shortly after the birth of Smith’s daughter. A lot of millenials recognize Jamie Lynn as both Britney Spears’ little sister and from her role as Zoey Brooks in Zoey 101.
